Welcome to the Rocks Project's central website. The purpose of the Rocks Project is to provide a series of web-based, publicly accessible tutorials and guides for a variety of Linux/Unix software packages. A list of current projects, both completed and under development, is provided below.

 

Current projects:

qmailrocks.org - a qmail installation guide and tutorial.

djbdnsrocks.org - a djbdns installation guide and tutorial.

vsftpdrocks.org - installation and configuration of the vsftpd FTP server.

iptablesrocks.org - quick and easy setup of iptables for linux.

ipfwrocks.org - quick and easy setup of a FreeBSD ipfw firewall.

mysqlrocks.org - installation guide and tutorial for mysql. (under development)

apacherocks.org - installation guide and tutorial for the Apache web server. (under active development)

crontabrocks.org - a quick guide to the cron daemon and crontabs.

sambarocks.org - by popular demand, a guide for the installation and configuration of samba (under development)

mrtgrocks.org - I've come to realize that all documentation for MRTG really sucks. It's time to rectify that. (under development)

daemontoolsrocks.org - Fun converting xinetd/inetd services into daemontools managed services. (under development)

tomcatrocks.org - A tomcat installation guide being written by Rene Schmitt in Germany. (under development)
