| About The Rocks Project |
|
I never intended on forming an ethos called The Rocks Project. The whole adventure started with Qmailrocks.org. I created that site to pull together multiple qmail tutorial sites into one comprehensive installation guide. I got great feedback on Qmailrocks.org so I then decided to expand my operation and create Djbdnsrocks.org, a tutorial for the installation of djbdns. I now had 2 complete tutorial sites. I enjoyed making each of them as well as answering people's questions and it also felt good to give back to the Linux/Unix community from which I had learned so much. I guess it was at that time that I decided I would attempt to write tutorials for all of my favorite applications. Soon after that I started a plethora of new tutorial sites including Apacherocks.org, Mysqlrocks.org, Ipfwrocks.org, Iptablesrocks.org and Vsftpdrocks.org. Well, with all these sites on the burner I felt it appropriate to pull them all under one umbrella organization. Enter The Rocks Project. And so here we are. The Rocks Project is the central hub for all of the "rocks" websites and as the tutorial sites grow, expand and improve this site will grow as well and become the main entry point for volunteers, donations, information and anything else that comes up along the way. Enjoy the sites, The Rocks Project
